DUTEE CHAND
She was born on 3rd February 1996, Jajpur, Odisha. She is the third woman to ever qualify for the women’s 100 meters event at the Summer Olympics games. And won the title of the second-fastest runner in India. She won the silver medal for the state as well as the nation-level at the Asian Games in Jakarta. She is the first woman sprinter from Odisha to win two medals, also chief minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik offered her a cheque of rupees 3 crores for her excellency in sports.
PADMINI ROUT
She was born on 5th January 1994, Baramba, Cuttack, Odisha. She is an Indian chess player and also entitled to International Master and Woman Grandmaster. She also won the under-14 girls championship in 2008 which was continued till 2017.
In this small age, she won a gold medal at the Asian Continental Women Championship in 2018, was awarded the Ekalavya Award and Biju Patnaik sports award. She also won five Asian and four national titles.
Recently, She has also been qualified for women’s world chess championship for 2020. She is an inspiration for today’s generation.
DILIP TIRKEY
He was born on 25th November 1977, Sundargarh, Odisha. He is an Indian Hockey Player. He was best known for his penalty corner hit and defender too. He was an ex-captain of our Indian Hockey team.
And now after retirement from his captaincy, he started working as the chairman of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation. He played for India in 1996 Atlanta,2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympics and is having a total of 412 international caps.
DEBASIS MOHANTY
He was born on 20 July, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He is an Indian Cricketer, played two tests and 45 one day international match from 1997 to 2001, he also played 17 ODIs and picked up 29 wickets. He is right-handed bowler, He used to take one wicket per game. He was the second-highest Indian wicket-taker.
ANURADHA BISWAL
She was born on 1 January 1975. She is an Indian athlete from Odisha, She holds a record of 31.38 seconds for 100m jump at Nehru stadium in Delhi.
She also happened to make a new record of 13.40 seconds at the Asian Championship in Jakarta and was awarded a bronze medal. Present she is also working with NALCO in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
SRABANI NANDA
She was born on 7th May 1991, Phulbani, Kandhamal district of Odisha. She won gold and silver and also a bronze medal in 200 and 100m run at the 2016 South Asian Games, also won gold and bronze medal in women 4*100 m relay race which was held in the event of 2008 and 2010 commonwealth games. She also won a bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Athletics championship with Dutee Chand and Himashree Roy.
PRAGYAN OJHA
Ojha was born on 5th September 1986, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He is an Indian cricketer. He played ODIs and test matches. He is a left-handed bowler. He plays for the Bengal cricket team and in Mumbai Indians in IPL.
He started playing cricket at the age of 10 years. He has ranked number 5 in ICC player ranking. He won a Purple cap in the IPL.he also played under-19. He was also granted with my awards.
KATULU RAVI KUMAR
He was born on 24th April 1988, Berhampur, Odisha. He is an Indian Weightlifter. He won the gold medal in commonwealth games in 2010. He is state, national as well as International level player and won 3 gold medals.in 2010 in Delhi, he won 3 gold medals.in 2011,3 bronze medal was awarded to him.
VALENA VALENTINA
She was born on 8th July 1988, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She is an Indian woman Karate Player. She was unsuccessful in the 2010 Asian Games and lost a bronze medal. But later she won a gold medal at the National Karate Championship in New Delhi and also in Goa.
She was also awarded Odisha cricket association and Odisha Olympic association jointly with cash of rupees 40,00 and also two bronze medals in the 33rd national games in Guwahati, Assam 2007.
SWARNALATA DALAI
A 20-year-old girl, she is from Jajpur district. She is the seventh odia to get selected for Mount Everest Mission. She was selected for Mount Everest’s mission when TSAF was conducting the Biju Patnaik Expedition for the government of Odisha.
She was a very talented and excellent performer, she is very good in mountaineering skills. She has participated in many expeditions like Mt.Rudugaira Expedition, Roopkund Trek which was one of the toughest ones.
