The ample budget documents will not be printed this year following the Covid – 19 protocol. Electronic documentation of the budget will be distributed among the members of Parliament.
This will be happening for the first time in the history of Indian parliament after independence. The printing of the documents requires the staff to be locked up in the basement printing press of the finance ministry couple of weeks ahead of the presentation of budget.
All these years printing began with the ‘Halwa’ ceremony that marked the staff going into the basement press and only come out when the budget has been presented.
The Budget for the year 2021- 2022, will be the 8th budget of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi’s Government. The budget is planned to be presented in the Parliament On 1st February 2021. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting her 3rd full time budget.
