Odisha plans ‘Eco Retreat’ at five destinations to revive COVID-hit tourism sector. From December 1, Eco Retreat will be started in Puri Ramchandi, which will last for three months.
This eco retreat, which starts on the banks of Kushbhadra river in Ramchandi, is said to be another eco retreat. Because for the second time, an eco-retreat system is being introduced in Odisha to attract tourists, for which preparations have been started.
The preparation work for this festival to be organized by the Odisha Tourism Department has been reviewed by the Director of Tourism Department Sachin Ramchandra Yadav and Puri District Collector Balwant Singh. Under the Kovid guidelines, this eco-retreat program will be conducted from 1 December to 28 February, putting restrictions on the entry of people coming from outside.
Along with Konark, tourists will get facility at 4 places in the state. Tourists will get hotel and bar facility under the temporary tent. Along with this, arrangements for water sports, boating and cultural programs have been made. The tourism department has started this new effort to attract foreign tourists.
It is worth mentioning that the event organized earlier was liked by the tourists. In such a situation, the tourism department has decided to organize it again in different places. This year, arrangements have been made on behalf of the department to organize programs in Konark, Hirakud, Daringibadi, Sakoshia, Bhitarkanika.
No price has been set by the department for cottage booking yet. In Konarkal , 50 crates have been arranged, 25-25 have been arranged in Satkoshia, Hirakud and Darigibari and 15 in Bhitarkanika.
This is an attempt to boost the tourism sector which has been hit hard by the on going Cornavirus pandemic this year.
