Odisha State Government today released a notification following the January 7th ruling of the Odisha High court in regards to waiver of school fees. In this regard The Odisha State Government on Tuesday released a notification giving a direction to all aided and unaided private schools in the state to reduce school fees, because of Covid -19 pandemic situation.
The government has asked all aided and unaided private schools in the state to comply with the notification issued by the School & Mass Education Department of Odisha. Govt has asked to waive the school fees according to the slabs in MOU of September 10th last year.
14 private schools have signed an MOU with the state government on fee waivers during the last few months. According to the MOU, for annual fees above Rs.1 lakh per annum, 26% of school fees were to be waived, 25% for school fees from Rs. 72,001 to Rs.1 lakh per annum, 20% for school fees from Rs. 48,001 to Rs. 72,000 per annum, 15% for school fees from Rs. 24,001 to Rs. 48,000 per annum, 12% for school fees from Rs. 122,000 per annum.
Apart from this no school can take food & transport fees from parents.
