After watching a hockey match at Kalinga Stadium in Odisha capital, former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble and his wife Chethana visited Jagannath Temple in Puri on Friday.
It was a special occasion for them as the visit coincided with their child’s birthday.
The couple was in the pilgrim town for the first time. They also prayed for the tremendous performance of Indian Hockey Team during the World Cup to emerge as the champion.
The former Tests skipper along with his wife reached Srimandir at 5.00 am amidst tight security. A huge crowd was seen at the temple to welcome Kumble.
However, no special arrangement was made for the spin maestro at the temple. The couple paid obeisance to the Lords and returned to Bhubaneswar.
Kumble and CM Naveen had watched an interesting Argentina vs France clash together at Kalinga Stadium in Men’s Hockey World Cup on Thursday evening.
