Sixteen-year-old Shaik Sahajad Musharraf from the district has made the state proud by winning a gold medal at the 3rd South Asian International Karate-Kick Boxing Championship-2017.
At the tournament held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, Musharraf beat agents from four nations. He won the gold decoration in the full contacts open, 55kg classification.
An aggregate of 114 members from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal participated in the competition that was hung on December 28 and 29, 2017.
Seven members of the state partook in it, yet Musharraf was the main member from Jajpur.
A Plus Two first-year understudy of Mount Litera Zee School at Jajpur Road, Musharraf has been learning karate for as long as two years under the direction of karate ace Gayadhar Singh of Bhadrak.
The high schooler had before partaken in the XXXII All-Odisha Sub-junior Kyeorugi and Poomse Taekwondo Championship 2017-18 rivalries and sacked a Silver Medal.

Child of Shaik Zuman, a rancher, and Taslima Khanum, a homemaker, of Chahata town in the area’s Dharmasala square, Musharaf means to win a decoration at the Olympics.
“I am extremely content with my execution. My point is to partake in the Olympics and win a decoration,” said Musharraf.
Musharaf’s dad said his child was a committed player, who awakens at 5.30am consistently and practices for an hour prior to leaving for school.
He continues to rehearse once he returns home.
“He hones at any rate for two hours day by day on weekdays and near four hours on ends of the week,” he said.
