Expert committee recommended for the emergency use of Oxford Astra Zeneca’s Covishield Vaccine, and is waiting the approval of Drug Controller General of India. The panel’s recommendations have been sent to Shri. V. G. Somani for approval. Countries like The United Kingdom and Argentina have already given their approval for Covishield.
Meanwhile the Odisha state government is all set to conduct a dry run for covid 19 vaccine at 31 places today. A huge drive will be held at all the District Headquarters Hospitals including the capital hospital in Bhubaneswar. Director for Medical Education and Training CBK Mohanty said that “under the dry run we will see how the vaccines will be delivered to people in a hassle free mode, this is similar to a mock drill.
Around 3.70 Lakh people have already registered with us for the dry run and several other states have also conducted dry runs” Shri. Mohanty stated. The DCGI gave a clue at the approval of the vaccine and stated that the people of the country will have a “Happy New Year with something in Hand”.
