Odisha Govt has announced the plan of Samaleswari Temple Area Management & Local Economy Initiatives (SAMALEI) to provide visitors and devotees with divine experience.
The project that is to be carried out under the With @MoSarkar5T. The emphasis will be on beautifying the temple and local people’s economic growth. In 2021-22, as part of the scheme, Rs. 200 Cr will be invested in developing 108 acres of land in & around Maa Samaleswari Temple.

The project will include the construction of facilities inside the 12-acre temple premises for devotees and the development of four tall welcome gates for heritage.
The plan also includes the construction of the heritage corridor, tourist facilities, road linking the temple to the bank of the river, Alati decks, riverfront & shore of the lake. It also includes food parks, Design Park & an open-air theatre, selling arrangements for different souvenirs to be sold.
Other works include the expansion of the road from the railway station to the temple’s north side and the cemetery’s reorganization. A kit for the rehabilitation of people impacted by the scheme is being planned. People may submit feedback on the plan to development.samalei@gmail.com by 15 March.
