Odisha rank 2nd best state in India in ‘Ease of Living Index’ by AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) where Andhra Pradesh topped the ‘Ease of Living Index’ ranking. Where Madhya pradesh in the 3rd place.
“Ease of Living Index is a transformative initiative of the Ministry to help the cities assess their liveability vis-à-vis national and global benchmarks,” said Hardeep Puri, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs.

the Ease of Living Index enables urban areas to evaluate their liveability at the national and worldwide levels.
He likewise expressed that this list will advance a sound rivalry among urban areas as they would be slanted towards a ‘result based’ way to deal with urban arranging and administration.
An aggregate of 116 urban areas (shrewd urban areas and ones having a populace of over a million) were evaluated on their framework, administration, social life and economy parameters in June 2017.
“Another feature of the Ease of Living evaluation models is its nearby linkage with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Of the 17 SDG objectives, 8 objectives are specifically connected to India’s simplicity of living evaluation system with SDG 11,” the Minister included.
