Prakash Javedkar Minister for Information and Broadcasting announced International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2020. “Kalira Atita” Nila Madhab Panda’s Odia Film has been selected in the prestigious Panorama Section of the International Film Festival of India 2020.
“Kalira Atita is my first Odia film and I am really happy that it will start its journey with the Prestigious IFFI. This is definitely one good news this year and I hope the year ahead will bring more cheer.” Said Neela Madhab Panda Director of the Film. Kalira Atita means yesterday’s past, this film is an inspiration drawn from, prophecies of Saint Achyutananda Das. According to his prophecies, because of global warming and rise in the water level of the Bay of Bengal, Puri will be submerged into the sea.
In his famous book “Achutananda Malika” the 16th Century Saint Achyutananda Das mentioned about Dooms Day. This film goes around a man from the Satavaya Village which has been absorbed by the sea. “This film emphasizes that it is a harsh reality and that people are losing their lives and livelihood because of it” mentioned the director Shri. Nila Madhab Panda.
