Housed in the courtyard of the Jagannath temple, this place provides the chance to not only read all the all-loved Shree Jagannath and his “leelas” but this place also gives the ample opportunity for all the non-Hindus to sneak a peek of the stunning “daaru-murati” or the sculpture of the great lord because sadly all the non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the temple. It usually remains open from 9am to 7pm in the evening and there’s a noon break from 1pm to 4pm.

The second floor of the library provides a beautiful view of the temple and can be accessed by making a minimal donation to the librarian. The library can be called a conservatory as it is home to century’s old manuscripts and scriptures written by the great ‘Vaishnav’ saints.
Usually, the library is quite deserted and so you can find your peace if lonely libraries and old books are your forte! It definitely is mine so see you there!
