The yearly Rajarani music festival, one of the well known celebrations of Odisha features the culture of Indian traditional music, will start at the Rajarani sanctuary here on Thursday evening.
The three-day celebration is being composed by the State Tourism Department in relationship with Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy and Odisha Tourism Development Corporation.
The celebration will be held from January 18 to 20 at the Rajarani sanctuary from 6 pm to 8.30 pm. Each night will have two introductions by various craftsmen.
The principal night will highlight instrumental music introduction by Ramesh Chandra Das (violin) and Srinibas Satapathy (woodwind). The second program of the night will be carnatic vocal by Sanjay Subrahmanyan.
The second night will see Odissi vocal by Matruprasad Das and Himanshu Sekhar Swain, and instrumental by Vkku Vinaykram (Ghattam).
The third and last night of the celebration will include Hindustani vocal by Sanjeev Abhyankar, and carnatic instrumental by Ganesh and Kumaresh.
