Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announced Rajendra College in Bolangir to be upgraded to university

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for the Cancer Care Hospital in Jharsuguda.

Besides Patnaik launched a project worth Rs 618.66 crore including six irrigation projects, four mega water supply projects in Jharsuguda district.

The CM made this announcement during his visit to the district today. He attended the youth conclave of Biju Yuva Vahini at Rajendra College. He also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several developmental projects on the occasion.

Addressing the meeting, the CM exhorted the youths to adopt the service-oriented ideology. Service should be the identity of youth society and Odia community, he added.

Rajendra College is the oldest college in the district having been established in 1944 and was affiliated to Utkal University. On January 1, 1967, it was affiliated to the Sambalpur University.

Thousands of youths from Bolangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur and Nuapada district participated in the youth conclave. Prior to his Bolangir visit, the CM rolled out projects worth Rs 600 crore in Jharsuguda.
